Restaurant Abat Cisneros
Restaurant Abat Cisneros is a sit-down restaurant that serves traditional Catalan cuisine, with seafood and meat options, as well as local desserts. You can order from a set menu or an à la carte menu.
Located in the Hotel Abat Cisneros right next to Montserrat Monastery, Restaurant Abat Cisneros is housed in a building that served as the stables for the monastery long ago. The arched stone ceiling is stunning! The walls are natural rock.
Restaurant Abat Cisneros serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Reserve in advance (you can call or email them) to make sure you will have a table without a wait on the day of your visit.
La Cafetaria
A large eating area that has a self-serve section and a warm foods section, La Cafetaria is the place to go if you are looking for a quick meal in between sightseeing.
You can choose from options such as hot or cold sandwiches and baked goods, or meals like stews, chicken, or soups.
La Cafetaria is open through the day, from 8.45 a.m., and planning to get a bite at off-peak hours can save you lots of precious sightseeing or hiking time in Montserrat.
Self-Service Restaurant
Located in the Mirador dels Apostols building next to the Restaurant Montserrat (which caters to large groups), the self-service restaurant offers hot and cold Mediterranean cuisine: salads, sandwiches, pasta or hot plated meals.
You can choose a spot in the dining hall for a meal with a view: the dining hall offers nice views of the mountains of Montserrat and the Llobregat Valley.
This is an affordable eatery, and there are vegetarian options. Visit at off-peak hours for a less crowded experience.
If you’ve purchased a ToT Montserrat ticket that includes the buffet lunch, this is where you will eat.
Bar de La Placa
A casual food place in Montserrat, Bar de La Placa is perfect if you are looking to grab a sandwich, hot dog, or hamburger, a pastry, or coffee.
Picnic!
With the sensational views that Montserrat offers, picking up picnic fixings and enjoying lunch outdoors is a great option!
You’ll find picnic tables in the Mirador dels Apostols Building if you are looking for tables, but you can also enjoy your meal along a hiking trail.
Check out the Queviures Supermarket or the Montserrat market stalls across from the Mirador dels Apostols Building for local produce, bread, and other treats.
You have to try mato, a local cheese that’s enjoyed with the local honey. Delicious!
